I have listed some of the most common mistakes done by webmasters when using Google Adsense. Try to avoid the mistakes below and have a great experience with adsense. You may always check with Google too.

1. Rule No.1 in adsense is NEVER click on you own website ads. No matter what is your reasons, never intentionally click on your adsense ads. If you accidentally clicked your adsense ads, its okay. Google have their ways to know that you accidentally clicked your ad. Never tell you friends, relatives, children or anybody to click on the ads. Adsense is very smart to detect fraudulent clicks and trust me they have millions of dollars to spend in developing smart software to monitor each individual adsense account. You may check also Google Preview tool if required when you are testing your site.

2. One Adsense account is sufficient even for multiple websites or blogs. I know there are many people who run more than one website. However, you do not need 5 Google Adsense accounts if you have 5 websites or blogs. One account should be enough for all. Read once in a forum, one dude have three account because he has three websites. He is afraid if one is closed, he has two more websites. But trust me, if Google somehow finds out, be sure he will loose all the accounts. Don't worry if you have multiples website since you could use multiple channels within one account to monitor each websites performance.

3. Follow the rule and the rule more than 3 ad units and 3 ad links and 2 adsense search boxes on any one website page. Since Google know some smart as* will try to place more, ads will not appear in those exceeded ad units even if you place more ad units. Therefore, stick with the rules.

4. Do not rewrite Adsense code or modify it in anyway. If you do this, just say good bye to your account. There are few things that you could do when getting the codes from Google such as changing the background color, text color and ad size. Stick to these options.

5. Do not make browser to open New Page for clicked ads by default by visitors. If you are facing this problem, then check your base target tag is SET to open all links in a new window or frame by default. Correct them NOW!!

6. Google adsense ads sent by email. Many emails nowadays allow placement of these JavaScript ads such as adsense. Do not do that, they are watching.

7. Be careful of your content. Adsense does not allow the ads to be place on non content pages. Also, they do not allow you to place ads on your pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content websites. So if you are running multiple websites with one Google Adsense account, and you have a website about gardening and another about porn. Do not place the ads in the porn site!

8. Keep your personal account information. Do not make public about your account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units or any other confidential information. However, you still can show off your income amount that you made using adsense.

9. Choose your language - Adsense supports Chinese (simplified),  Norwegian, Turkish, Polish,  Russian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Swedish, Finnish, Japanese, Danish, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, French, Italian and English. If you have website using other then these language, do not place your adsense ads.

10. Do not run competitive contextual text ad which look similar to Google. Never try to create link structures resembling the adsense ads or other competitive ads that looks similar. However, Google has allowed other ads such as from  Yahoo, Chitika and etc. provided the ads do not resemble Adsense ads at anytime.

11. You may label “sponsored links” or “advertisements” only for your adsense ads. Stick to these two as only these two labeling are allowed.

12. Do not make the url words in adsense ads to be same as your website background color. This will make the urls disappear when the ads are show. Also do not allow overlapping image with your adsense ads.

13. Do not place images adjacent to adsense ads. Making an image looks related to an adsense ads by placing it beside the ads is not allowed. This will trick potential reader to click on the ads.

14. Place your adsense ads only pages with content. Google advertisers are paying Google for placing their ads base on website content. Adsense work base on your website content and therefore placing your ads in log report page, login page and etc. are not allowed.
